One of the tallest, and still operational, lighthouses in the country Pigeon Point Light Station is just 50 miles south of San Francisco. This piece was captured in a cool December night. I spent all day waiting on the sunset and was blessed with overcast skies that perfectly captured the winter colors.

Just down from Palm Beach Florida is the little sleepy town of Lake Worth. I found this pier earlier and wondered how a morning shot would turn out. I got a beach cruiser and road over early in the morning before light. I set up the tripod right in the surf and waited for the show. I spent the rest of the day cleaning out sand and salt water from my equipment but I think it was worth the work.

Key West is a favorite location of mine for scenes like this. I've always heard that if you don't like the weather in Florida just wait a few minutes. It started as a dull morning but soon the sun started painting the sky which really added to this shot.

MORNING WALK

Key West is one of my favorite escapes. The laid back atmosphere and seemingly endless views are a welcome invitation to recharge and unwind. The mornings are also a perfect time to walk the beach and remember how peaceful the world can be if for only a moment. This morning I intended to shoot the sun coming over the horizon but the weather never breaks. The sun didn’t let me down though. It showed even a cloudy morning has something to show as it painted the sky, just for me.

This captivating view was caught just before sunset on the Pacific Coast. The water was unpredictable at best but I was determined to tame the scene with patience. This shot required a full 90 second exposure to relax the waves and soften the sky.
