  • I could spend hours capturing the beauty within these canyons. In fact I did spend a couple hours with my Navajo guide to find just the right light ... and may have caught a dancing spirit.

  • Time is fleeting and yet one can only imagine the forces at play within the ever changing walls around me. I walk through the cavernous walls and wonder how many years have had to pass to form such a wondrous structure.

  • Time seems to cease when wandering these caves and yet I cannot forget that it is time that has sculpted such beautiful formations. Known to frequently flood these caverns show the awesome effect water has with the ever changing power of erosion.

  • At high noon one has the chance to witness the spectacle of light pierce through the rock and illuminate the true colors throughout the area. It was at this time that I had the chance to take in all the vibrant colors on display as the light brought them to life.

  • Sometimes one only has to look up to find the best view. This is what I did when entering a small crevice within the caverns. Once the sun broke through the colors came alive illuminating the shape worn over the years.

  • Captured atop the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I found this lone tree growing from the bedrock and had to capture its magnificence in near infrared.

  • This is one of my favorite spots to view the Colorado River. Another of natures demonstration of the powerful effect water has on the most formidable terrains.

  • Horse Shoe Bend Panorama.

  • Shortly before noon the sun casts it's rays just right and the caverns come alive as sand falls in the light.

  • We are truly the benefactors of the work time and erosion have upon the caverns in Antelope Canyon.

  • The sound of sand trickling down the sandstone echoing against the walls sent a sense of calm and solace. Even with the intense heat I could still find peace in such a venue.

  • This image was captured just outside of Las Vegas in the Valley of Fire state park. The red hues abound throughout the park and seem to glow as the sun sets off in the distance.

  • Bryce Canyon, well known for crimson-colored hoodoos, is truly a spectacle to see. I was worried as I ventured up the mountain, there there was a vast wild fire miles up wind that cast a shadow as far as the eye could see. When I made it to the optimal venue the smoke helped to accent the sunset, almost as if the fire set to the sky as well.

  • Japanese gardens have always captured my attention. Their brilliance amazes as they calm the soul. The Japanese Tea Garden is just inside the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. It was an exceptional pleasure to escape the hurried lifestyle of the inner city within this garden of tranquility.

  • Hiking up the hill side of Bears Den proves rewarding when reaching the summit. The kids always love playing in the large cracks of the granite rocks. I love the view.

  • I spent Memorial Day morning shooting the local golf courses at Landsdowne Resort. It took a while but I found some patriotic spirit on the 18th hole.

  • Florida is one of my favorite venues for photography. The weather can change at an instant and his night was no different. Storms were predicted within the hour and my chance to shoot this spot was dwindling. I could feel the air cool quickly as the wind picked up from behind. I looked around for the brewing storm and saw the sun just begin to set and paint the sky one last time for the day. Just in time before the sun gave way to the storm.

  • As an avid cyclist I often frequent the Washington & Old Dominion bike trail (W&OD). This spot is one of my favorite locations all along the 45-mile stretch. The tree canopy is reminiscent of an old church cathedral.

  • You never know what to expect in New York City. Just walking though Central Park I found a full scale bike race flying through the park. For this image I thought to just pan with the group with a longer shutter speed to blend the colors just enough to achieve this effect.
